Four Days in Santorini
Join us for a few days of sun, sea, and celebration high above the Aegean. Here's how the days will unfold.

Touch down in Santorini and join us for a welcome dinner, then on to a lounge for drinks afterward. Please meet us at Rocabella Santorini and we'll head to dinner together. A perfect way to start the festivities.
A day out on the water around the caldera — swimming, sunshine and sailing. We'll be passing through the sulfur springs, so we recommend wearing a dark bathing suit to avoid damage if you enter the water — the mineral water can stain and discolor light fabrics. The boat company will pick you up and drop you back at your hotel, so there's no transport to arrange.
Heads up: if you'd like to join the boat day, we'll need passport details for each guest — please add them on your RSVP.
The big day. A caldera-view ceremony as the sun drops, followed by dinner and dancing under the stars. We'll arrange transport to and from the wedding for guests staying off-property — just tell us your hotel on your RSVP.
A relaxed morning-after breakfast before everyone heads home — coffee, something to eat, and a gentle goodbye to the trip. No need to rush off: join us if you'd like, or take the morning to yourselves and enjoy the island at your own pace. Come as you are.
Getting There
Santorini is a two-step trip from most places: fly into Athens first, then hop over to the island by air or by sea. Here's how it works.
Fly into Athens, then air or sea to Santorini
Book your international flight to Athens International Airport. Most guests connect through a major European hub. Give yourself enough time to make the onward trip to Santorini the same day — or spend a night in Athens and continue the next morning.
A short domestic flight from Athens (ATH) to Santorini (JTR). The easiest option, and well worth booking early for June. Suggested airlines:
Ferries sail from Athens' ports (Piraeus or Rafina) to Santorini — high-speed boats take around 5 hours, standard ones longer. Beautiful, but slower and occasionally weather-dependent. Compare times and book:
From Santorini's airport or port, Imerovigli is roughly a 15–20 minute taxi or transfer. June is peak season, so book flights and ferries as early as you can.
On the Island
Santorini is small but the roads are winding and summer is busy. A few honest notes so you can plan — and remember, we've got transport to and from the wedding covered.
Taxis can be scarce right when flights and ferries arrive, so the easiest start is to pre-book. Ask your hotel to set up an airport or port shuttle, or reserve a private transfer in advance.
Santorini has only a small taxi fleet, so they can be hard to grab at peak times (after the Oia sunset, when boats land). Uber works here, but it simply dispatches a local taxi, so it's not always available either. Have your hotel call one, and agree the fare first.
The most popular way to roam. A small car or an ATV/quad lets you reach beaches and villages at your own pace — just note the narrow lanes and limited parking in the main towns. We've read an International Driving Permit isn't strictly required, but rules can vary by rental company, so please do your own research before you plan to rent.
Cheap and reliable if you're not in a rush. Routes all run through Fira, the main town, with connections out to Oia, the beaches and the ports. Pay the conductor in cash onboard (bring small euro notes) — no app, card or pass needed. Fares are about €2 each way.
However you get around, we'll arrange transport to and from the wedding itself — so day-of, there's nothing to sort out.
Phones & Data
Your home cell plan may not work well (or cheaply) in Greece, and we'll want to reach you with updates during the trip. A few easy ways to make sure you're connected before you go.
An eSIM gives your phone a Greek/European data plan without swapping anything physical. Download the app, buy a plan (often just a few dollars), and you'll have data the moment you land. Great if your carrier's roaming is pricey.
If you opt for data, please download WhatsApp before the trip. It works over WiFi or data (no texting fees), it's what everyone in Greece uses, and it's how we'll send group updates during the week — so you're all set if we need to reach you.
Prefer to sort it when you land? You can pick up a local prepaid SIM card at the airport with data and a Greek number. Easy, though it means a quick stop and swapping your SIM.
Every hotel has WiFi, so you'll always be reachable on WhatsApp there. Turning on WiFi Calling in your phone's settings also lets you call and text over WiFi without roaming charges.
However you connect, make sure you can reach WhatsApp — that's where we'll keep everyone in the loop during the trip.
